★★★
It’s been 8 years since the last ATTACKER album – Sins of the World (which I think is fantastic) – and after all this time, The God Particle is just… “okay.” Musically, the songs are very strong – great riffing, strong rhythm work, fluid and melodic solos – but those vocals… they just make this album sound ridiculous. I know it’s been a running theme for ATTACKER, having goofy and/or nontraditional vocals across their career, but when you slap them atop good songs? Why would you do that? It’s with a great anguish that I have to come to this realization, especially after really enjoying the majority of their work, but I’ve gotta say what I’ve gotta say: Feel free to not listen to this one, or if you do, at least you’re only spending 33 minutes doing so.
FAVORITE TRACKS: “Curse of Creation,” “River of Souls,” “World in Flames”
