Blood Offer - Into Evil Rites [EP] (2024)

Now, this little Italian death/thrash act has only been around since 2022, but in that time I would have expected them to write and release something better than this. By no means am I saying it’s bad, quite the opposite, but it just doesn’t sound fresh or very original. It’s not like they’re ripping anyone off, but they definitely wear their influences on their sleeves. To sum it up, if you’ve ever heard the 1987 cult classic Into the Abyss by German death/thrash band Poison, that’s basically this EP but with better production and less memorable songs. I will say, however, that some of the riffing here is off the charts, especially on songs like “Embryonic Demon” and “False Eternity.” All in all, it’s derivative, but not bad. Throw it on if you’ve got 16 minutes to spare.
